Writing Our Stories
Whether you're writing for Random House or for random relatives—and whether your story takes form as fact or fiction, prose or poetry—writing our lives is a creative, clarifying and curative process. Our workshop hour each morning is about how to make our stories more captivating. The rest of the day is for writing and reflecting, with reading and feedback time late each afternoon. Evenings are for activities that support our writing. Bring your laptop and your writer's notebooks; and, because there's more to writing than writing, bring your journal, your sketch pad, your needlepoint, your flip flops, your walking shoes, your swim suit.
Clare Morris, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist and the author of two books of poetry and a recent memoir. Donna Hardy is a psychotherapist and writing teacher and the author of a book of poetry and a biography. Clare and Donna have been leading writing workshops, together and separately, for more than 30 years. They are skillful at making and holding space
where people can do their own creative work.
Angela Center is located among vineyards and playing fields at the edge of Santa Rosa.
The buildings and grounds support solitude; there is much good writing and walking space.
We will be living and writing at Ursula Hall, a reconditioned convent, where you will have a well-appointed Room of Your Own, air-conditioned, with hot and cold running water.
The meals will be better than you remember from Scout Camp.
Enrollment is limited to twelve.
